B40-1811  Ladies' Blouse from one yard of fabric, circa 1942.

Bust size 30" to 34".

In an effort to conserve fabric and paper during the Second World War, The Ladies Home Journal issued this pattern which made use of very little paper with which to circulate the blouse pattern and in the making of the blouse itself by requiring only one yard of the following fabrics:
Plain or printed taffetas, silk satins, silk jacquards, silk crepes, or cottons.

The neck opening has a narrow collar trimmed at the bottom with a vintage dress clip.
The pattern is easily graded into large sizes, but one yard of fabric will no longer suffice in its making.
