E30-3743 Ladies' Evening Frock with Train and Street Dress, circa 1931
I refer to this as the Gosford gown!
It is ravishing in silk charmeuse with a number of curved seams, many of which lay on the bias to create the lovely bell-shaped skirt sections!
Three weights are applied at the hem of the train to keep it from flipping and to control the drape of bias areas of the skirt.
The street frock version features a flounced sleeve.
