D40-6659 Draped Dress with Cutouts, circa 1946

Size 16 (34" bust, 28" waist, 37" hip) or size 18 (36" bust, 30" waist, 39" hip)

This is a very unusual dress for the draping across the skirt and keyhole cutouts.

Recommended fabrics are: heavy silk crepe, wool crepe, satin, jacquard and charmeuse.  The finished model above is in black wool crepe.

3-1/2 yards of 54"-62" goods without nap are required for the size 18 long sleeve dress with skirt drapes.
4-1/4 yards of 44"/45" goods without nap are required for the size 18 short sleeve dress with skirt drapes.
2-1/8 yards of 54" goods without nap are required for the size 18 long sleeve dress without skirt drapes.
The yardages above allow for shrinking.
