C80-Pel Ladies' Pelerine Mantel, circa 1885

This short Pelerine Mantel is cut from cloth to match the dress or cloth or velvet in a neutral tone to go with various costumes. 
The Mantel is lined with bright surah.  The pleats at the back are held down with a a 1-3/4" wide velvet belt which passes through slits at the sides to hook together at center front waist line.  A clasp closes the collar and three buttons close the upper front.
