S30-3089 1939 Men's Shirts
Originally by Simplicity, 'Here is the ideal shirt for sportswear. It is buttoned at the front and gathered to yoke at back. Two or three patch pockets with buttoned flaps are shown. Sleeves are long or short. Worn with a belt, it makes a good-looking jacket.'
This 10-piece pattern gives a let-out at all side seams. Advice is given when measuring for sleeve length (as coincides with chest measure), as follows:
With arm bent upward, place tape measure at base of neck. Run tape from center back to elbow, across elbow crook and over the wrist bone.
3/4" seams are given at underarm (all side) seams and 1/2" seams are given on all other edges.
Sizes:
Size set A fits 38" to 42" chest, 15" to 16" neck.
Size set B fits 42" to 46" chest, 16" to 17" neck.
PATTERN NOT IN YOUR SIZE? Upon request, I am happy to furnish an additional schematic showing where to adjust the pattern pieces with instructions on how to re-size the pattern.
