11-piece digitally-drafted pattern originally by Simplicity, 'Style I has V-neckline with pointed collar. Bodice gathers on high waistline to yoke. Short sleeves finished with a band. Twelve-gored skirt joins to lower edge of yoke.  Style II has square neckline and short sleeves finishes with pleating'. Suggested fabrics are for Style I: Eyelet batiste, taffeta, rayon, silk and cotton crepe, triple sheers, or flat crepe.  For Style II: Dimity, dotted Swiss, printed muslin, sheer cotton, eyelet batiste, lace, taffeta, rayon and cotton crepe, triple sheers or flat crepe. 1/2" seams are given. Pattern Tour E30-744, 1930's Dinner Gown & Cape

This 5-piece pattern is for the dinner gown with incorporated cape via buttonhole at the front of the bust. Strongly resembles the velvet gown Cate Blanchett wears in the latest Noir film, Nightmare Alley! Fullness is provided for the bust with double darts and cinching at the center front where the cape threads through.  A line of elastic is sewn into the upper edge of the un-structured bodice back to hold it in place.  The cape may be worn on or off the shoulders and a godet adds fullness to the otherwise close-fitting bias skirt.
