EvaDress Patterns How To My Personal Dressmaking The Week in Patterning Storyboard
Alexandra ReynoldsAnother patterning week 'wrapped up' with this 1944 wrap skirt, now in multi-size from 26" to 42" waist. As I worked this one up, it took me to this time last year I was sewing a Pendleton wool from it for my Arizona Make it with Wool entry. While I am not competing this year, I felt it appropriate to offer the how-to as I built this skirt in hopes it inspires or helps others with this pattern. Alexandra ReynoldsAs promised last week, size set B fitting 40" to 46" bust (also with dress & jacket, or dress as a separate) in the 1950's Sarong & Bolero pattern is up and ready to go! Alexandra ReynoldsSpent this week 'wrapping up' the sarong dress & bolero originally by Butterick. This was sent to me by a customer who has graciously offered to make available from my collection. As shown above, I offer this one with or without the bolero. Size set A began shipping yesterday and I will have size set B ready to go next Friday, so stay tuned!

As shown below, a 'kit of parts' for facing the sleeves and lower hem of the jacket (since only a 1" hem was allowed in the original pattern). I gave a 2" finished hem in the jacket by applying a hem facing rather than lengthen the front and back piece to turn a 2" hem (for lack of enough fabric). (I'll drop the lining in and post photos...

Alexandra ReynoldsA bittersweet week, this one. I happily have to offer the 1942 Two-Piece Dress pattern from 32" to 46" bust. A generous customer in Maryland sent it to me so it could be available in the collection! Sadly, we lost the birdie member of our family this week. Here is a little look back at a time last year when she very closely supervised my pattern CAD work!
