 E20-5941, 1929 Evening Frock

7-piece pattern originally by McCall, for the more advanced sewer as instructions are very basic and lightly illustrated, they are not depicted in a step-by-step manner.

3/8" seams are allowed.

Sizes:
Size set A fits 14-18 (32" to 36" bust, 26" to 30" waist, 35" to 39" hip).

Size set B fits 20-42 (38" to 42" bust, 32" to 36" waist, 41" to 45" hip).

Size set C fits 44-48 (44" to 48" bust, 38" to 42" waist, 47" to 51" hip).

When sewing this design together l, you will 'flip' the lower back and side piece after joining it with the front piece at notch number 4. This ensures the piece will fold and drape to create sharp points in the hem. It will also bring notch number 6 in the upper edge of the lower back and side piece to align with that on the girdle.

Hopefully, the paper model here demonstrates the point (pun intended)!

In the photos you see a Halloween version a customer created from this pattern.  She accompanied it with her make from the 1929 Evening Wrap pattern (C20-5945).
